This course was designed for rehabilitation practitioners (physical & occupational therapists); it provides a framework for optimal care during and after breast cancer treatment to prevent and alleviate often unnecessary side effects that can become a detriment to survivors' quality of life.

I invite all oncology team members (physicians, nurse navigators, nutritionists, etc.) to take this comprehensive course. When we come together for the same purpose (improving breast cancer survivorship), our collaboration provides the opportunity to understand each field's unique perspective, improve communication, and advance standards of care for people with breast cancer.

Massage therapists specializing in cancer care will be pleased with the integration of this course into their practice. Exercise physiologists and athletic trainers who are qualified to work with cancer patients will also benefit from this course.

Although this course teaches the comprehensive evaluation and treatment of breast cancer patients, it is the responsibility of every practitioner to work within their scope of practice. 

Cohort 9 begins March 1, 2024! This course contains 16 hours of video content + section tests. The course is structured in a drip format for cohesion amongst participants with Q&A and to support timely course completion. Studenst will gain access to the welcome section upon course registration. Print manuals will be ordered the day after course registration closes to ensure timely delivery by the October 1st start date. Below is the timeline for section access.

Week 1 (March 1-7): Surgeries Section
Week 2 (March 8-14): Lymphedema & Lymphatic cording
Week 3 (March 15-21): Adjuvant Treatment Part 1 - overview of medical adjuvant treatment, cardiotoxicity & peripheral neuropathy
Week 4 (March 22-28): Adjuvant Treatment Part 2 - fatigue & cognitive changes, osteoporosis/penia, joint arthralgias, and painful intercourse.

Course attendees can submit questions that will be answered during weekly office hours within the KickPink Practitioner Community. (Videos are available for replay.)

An optional personal contribution is recommended for KickPink certification; these projects live within the KickPink library. Examples of past projects have included case studies, research article summaries, exercise videos, interviews, and blog posts. These projects are self-determined areas of study, are meant to be enjoyable, and facilitate discussion amongst your instructor and fellow KickPink practitioners. The course content is delivered in 4 sections and 'dripped' to students over 4 weeks which allows for course completion in one month. Online learning lets you schedule and digest information at your own pace.  A cohort method increases motivation and accountability. But, if you don't nail the completion of content every week, don't be dismayed...stay the course, and ENJOY!

The best learning is achieved when you enjoy the content and feel supported. This is a 2-day course that you have 3 months to finish + you are supported the entire time!
